Presentation
Yourchildlearns.com is an educational site where you can bring children of different ages closer to the themes of geography, English language and alphabet and other interactive activities. Once we visit the site we will be faced with a fairly simple home page with many advertising banners; the menu is observed in its entirety by scrolling the pages down. In the first section of the menu are the material and activities related to geography.

Scrolling the page we then find the section dedicated to the English language and alphabet.

Then the section dedicated to printing construction drawings, which the child can build in a DIY activity with glue and scissors.

In the final part of the site we find the "Active Learning Projects" section, where we also have links to external sites where to introduce, study, learn and "play" with many different topics, from history to historical figures to geography itself to topics of a scientific and mathematical nature. At the bottom of the page there is also a section where to search material and activities on specific topics of particular interest.

GEOGRAPHY SECTION: Opening these links leads to the US geography section.

In this other page there are interactive maps showing characteristics and structure of a certain State, puzzles to associate the State with the related area, downloadable maps for school activities.

Under the paragraph dedicated to the USA, we find some concepts concerning geography in general and not referring to a specific land. ONLINE INTERACTIVE MAPS It is a section where, selecting a Country belonging to a continent/area of the Earth, you can observe its topographic features, findo out what is its capital city and also, scrolling down, read some information and some characteristics of the most important Countries of the continent/area.

MAP PUZZLES This function makes a kind of puzzle available to the user, of a selectable difficulty level, in which to be correctly fit the various national territories in order to shape the entire area previously selected.

As can be easily guessed, after choosing the region and the difficulty of the exercise, you drag and drop to confirm the choice.

ONLINE ATLAS MAPS Online Atlas Maps provides us with the map (in which to choose whether to view main cities, capitals, States or rivers) and a description of the most popular geographical areas, linking relative quizzes to some of these. The user can also print the map visualised on their screen.

Example of a quiz:

MAPS TO PRINT In this section it is possible to decide to print maps of a size that is chosen at will, for educational purposes.

Choice of the map and of the relative size.

ALPHABET AND LANGUAGE: As previously said, this section is dedicated to the English alphabet and language. After clicking on the first item we find a feature dedicated to the print of cubital characters.

In the second section the user has the possibility to understand how letters are composed, what is the correct glyph to represent them. 3 degrees of difficulty are available, we have the opportunity to use different shapes to represent what we know or what we have to learn.

In the third subsection of the “Alphabet and Language” section we find an ebook enriched with audio, video contents and completing exercises.

Scrolling down in the same section, we find a series of games that allow you to associate the corresponding glyph to a sound and inserting it in the word as pronounced by the synthetic voice. Here we can choose the degree of complexity of the interactive game as well.

The last two subsection of the “Alphabet and Language” section are respectively dedicated to: the print of cubital characters and related images (considering the first letter of the corresponding word);

the view (or the purchase) of a poster where to each letter the picture of an animal is associated.

DIY ACTIVITIES: In this section we find items that bring us to the creation of miniature DIY structures and objects of history: castles;

weapons;

cities and villages;

farms.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACTIVITIES: In the last section of this website we find a group of activities, with direct links to external websites facing different issues too: humanities projects; mathematics projects; science projects.

We find here a summary of topics that we have already faced (DIY and quizzes) and at the same time we can face new topics concerning ancient history, contemporary history, arts etcetera. Games and different kinds of activities allow you to complete, enrich or perfect the cultural baggage of a user.

Mathematical games and exercises where to be able to refine your own abilities starting from simple numbers and arriving to more complex topics, such as fractions and geometry.

Elementary and simplified activities which wind from physics to anatomy passing through geology and other fields of science.
