Edmodo is a free web application that allows communication between teachers, students, and parents about school topics. There is an option to register through these three ways to access the group of interest. The following is the home screen where you can register or login. Teachers after registering can: create groups of students and within it other subgroups; communicate with parents; assign tasks by attaching files; assign assessments that will be easily found by students and parents; write posts visible to all members of that group; create a digital library; answer tests and polls; plan a calendar of events and activities to be carried out; communicate with other teachers. Students, after registering, must enter a code provided by the teacher that automatically enters the group he/she has created. This code is created by the system. Parents can enter the class in Edmodo and check their child's progress.
This is the dashboard for a teacher account. In the top left corner, you will be able to manage your profile, adding a photo, sharing your professional interests and your class schedule. You can also add your school to find people, discuss and receive announcements. Also in the menu on the left you can view or create, organize and manage classes and groups. In the central part of your account you'll be able to see daily updates of your classes, groups, school, and other teachers on Edmodo. In the top menu you'll be able to access the class section to see the progress of your students, the calendar section and messages.
To create a class you'll have to indicate the name, give a description, select the grade and the subject; once it is created, a code will automatically be generated to distribute to the students so that they can join the class. At this point you'll be able to post messages, GIFs, images, videos and polls. To check the understanding of a topic or make a lesson more interactive you can create quizzes, tasks or interactive activities by clicking on the "create" button on the right of the screen. In the menu on the left in the "members" section you can manage students, co-teachers and parents; also in the menu on the left you can create small groups to organize students according to different projects. Through the calendar you can plan the work of the class but also personal work, through quizzes, assignments, events and tasks.
The dashboard for students is the same as the one for teachers. In the menu on the left are the various classes you are enrolled in, the groups and finally you can invite parents or provide them with the code provided by Edmodo so they can create an account. In the central part you can see all the posts related to the various classes. In the menu on the right you can access the assigned tasks with their deadlines.
